The winter is coming and the energy prices are growing up. In this article we will explain which is the best heating solution for this winter.
Boilers and heat pumps are the two most efficient heating systems on the market. With boilers, the most efficient solution is the condensing boiler, which reuses the energy contained in the gases and allows for greater efficiency. Its purchase and installation price are lower compared to the heat pump. The condensing boiler allows 30% savings in fuel consumption and is generally mixed, it will provide heating and hot water.
Heat pumps, on the other hand, have efficiencies 3 to 4 times higher than a boiler: they take heat from the air, even at low temperatures, and transport it to the central heating system or to the water in a tank. This type of pump have a couple of benefits:
- low maintenance costs;
- no chimney required;
- no emissions harmful to health;
- it provides greater safety;
- it uses air as renewable energy;
- simple installation;
- savings on the energy bill.
In the long term, the heat pump is the most efficient solution, because it allows you to recover the investment in a less time-consuming way and have a better economic and energy performance. However, you should consider whether you have the necessary conditions on your property to install a heat pump.
